LG G3 Analogy on the Teaser Video

Since everything about the LG G3 was officially kept hidden before the official teaser video came out; everyone thought rumors and leaks would be the only source to know about it beforehand. The official teaser video was then released and changed many ideas that was generated earlier. And the video seemed like focusing more on the camera; since it started showcasing the camera. That suspicious black sensor-like object right beside the camera lens – everyone is looking for the answer; what that thing could be. The popular guess is – that is related to the camera and in fact that is a sensor. People are trying to find out more facts like this from the video; let’s find out the popular ones.

The IR Autofocusing Sensor

A press render was leaked by PhoneArena regarding the LG G3 and then the official teaser video. Both showed the black sensor dot in the rear panel. What is that mysterious black panel? There were plenty of guesses and plenty of tweets as well. However, everyone agrees that it’s an auto focusing sensor.

Is that infrared? Not sure yet. While some people are guessing that is an IR blaster like used in many point and shoot cameras to assist the autofocus processor; the rest are saying it doesn’t really work using an infrared ray. Eveleaks suspects that the black panel is a laser autofocus, which is a comparatively newer and modern way of autofocusing. The laser detects at which distance to set the focus and then captures the photos. The ‘HTC One’ (variant M8) had dual cameras in the back for almost the same reason – to help the primary camera with achieving a very accurate auto focus.

Lock Screen

The display showing four banging noises in the end of the video would not carry any meaning to anyone who doesn’t know about LG’s KnockCode screen lock technology. Knocking on the screen in a predefined pattern unlocks the display. The circular display with a clock as shown in the teaser video is a lock screen as well.

User Interface

Eveleaks website had a screenshot posted in the landscape orientation which was claimed to be from a LG G3; even though it was removed later on. However, the leaked screenshot looked a lot like the LG Optimus UI. There was a fourth button in the bottom, just next to the Android’s app switching button.

Build Material

Everyone was wondering if the LG G3 is going to be made of metal; or traditional posh plastic. The back panel seen in the teaser video looked like brushed aluminum. It’s a logical bet now that the LG G3 has already been made of metal; it is about time to prove it.

According to previous leaks, the LG G3 will have a Snapdragon 801 chipset. Some rumors say Snapdragon 805; nothing is assured until the unveiling ceremony takes place.

The phone will have a 5.5 qHD display containing 534 ppi according to gsmarena spec sheet. 3 GB RAM as of the high-end smartphone tradition these days; and a 13 megapixel rear camera. There might be another variant with a 2 GB RAM and reduced storage capacity of 16 GB.

The teaser video kept the mystery; just given us some food for thought. Till May 27th; there will be a lot to guess. Till then, happy guessing!

However more phones like Google nexus 6 and galaxy s6 are also creating much thunders among fans.
